Another puppy pic

Even though she isn't a Hav I thought you might like this pic of Molly, our little shih tzu girl. She and Tasha are playing nice together so I stopped worrying. The breeder sent her home with the food she was feeding so I mixed it 50-50 with wellness puppy food which is what we want her on. She picks out the wellness and leaves the other stuff in the bowl. Then she eats Tasha's wellness core adult food. I hope eating a little adult food won't cause any problems.

She is too cute for words! I'm glad she's settling in nicely and that the two of them are getting along so well early on.

What a cutie! Glad to hear things are going smoothly now.

About the food - I've heard that they don't really need puppy food and can eat adult from the beginning - anyone else heard that, too?

Yes, I remember reading that too. I even thought I recalled one of the breeders saying she fed adult to the puppies.

I wasn't sure about the food. I thought puppy food had more fat and protein than adult. It does say for adults over one year old on the wellness core bag.

Hi,lovely pic of Miss Molly!I'm sure a little adult food won't do any harm, after all human babies eat the same as us only mashed up, they don't have to follow special diets as long as it is balanced diet. Our Nellie does just that, picks out the adult kibble, and then goes after Dizzie's, then if she is still hungry she will pick at the other stuff.Mind you she is a little fatso,a real gutbucket!!

Very cute!!

I doubt the food will hurt her if she's tolerating it that's a good sign, I had always heard it was a fat content difference (more fat in the puppy blends), you can always ask your vet about it when you take her in for shots.

Tasha got the squirts when she ate some of the blended puppy food. Not sure if it was the breeder's food in there or both since she hasn't had the wellness puppy food for two years. She seems to have a sensitive stomach. Molly's been eating her blended food and the wellness core without any issues. We tossed the breeder's food and will give her just the wellness puppy food now. If the vet says it's ok we might put her on the adult core after this bag of puppy food is gone. It would be easier to feed one food and not worry about Tasha getting any even though we feed Molly in the ex pen to keep the food away from Tasha. I think the breeder was feeding Neutra something or other. Not sure if it's good quality but Molly seems to prefer wellness.
