Question TREATS!!

Just how many a day is normal??I feed Duncan 3 times a day,but my hav is always hungry<LOL
So I bought these natural biscuits and if I had to count he gets about 6 daily.
What else is good to offer? I also offer carrots cut up finely.Any other suggestions??Oh and grapes, are they a no-no??
THanks again!

I give Winston freeze dried liver treats

for peeing/pooping....they're small little squares, 100% beef liver....you're only supposed to give 2 a day [whoops] so I've started breaking them into pieces so I can give him more [perhaps that's why he's gained a pound. LOL].
And I've cut back on pee treats...still giving it for poop because he still would rather poop in the entry way.

He also likes carrots and obviously they're less calories. I give him a baby carrot to gnaw on. And he loves chewing on his bully sticks [they last forever].

Grapes are a NO NO. Supposedly they could KILL a dog. I never knew this and they were a favorite treat of my beagle Quincy. But there's supposedly something in grapes that can cause a bad reaction in a dog.

I don't over feed treats. I give them a few a day. They get all natural treats, "Pure Meat" treats, Charlie bears, and lamb lung. I make them do a trick before I give them a treat.

Brady's mom gives lots of treats!!! Right Karen?? HAHA!

Nico is three months old. He gets 1/4 cup of kibble two times a day, half an egg yolk with breakfast, and then on an average day he'll get two Pro Plan biscuits (half a biscuit at a time) and maybe an Authority liver treat. Every now and then he'll get a little piece of cheese, too. My breeder was pretty adamant about treats being kept to the minimum, so we're trying not to overdo it. I think we're treating more than she'd like, though.

Since Tripp has gained weight, i have really tried to not give him many treats at all. We do give a chicken jerky when they go in the ex-pen when we leave for work. And some treats when we train. Tripp ALWAYS acts like he is starving. Dreamer doesnt want a lot of treats. Tripp would eat all day long if i would let him. Oinker!

Trish, I give mine the FDLiver. They are bonkers for them. I cut up them up and stuff their kongs with them. It keeps them busy for a little while trying to get them out. I also sprinkle the "crumbs" over their food to get them to eat.

Dot - Duncan is getting so big and he is just adorable.

Rufus loves to eat but he is just as happy being treated with his kibble. We give him a cup of kibble a day divided into three servngs but if we are doing some training we steal it from his food bowl and it works fine! He begs in the kitchen when I'm chopping fresh foods for the parrots and I usually offer a few scraps of apple or cucumber, squash, carrot...corn.

I did the same with Oliver but he changed his mind about the kibble
