I feel a lot better about Stella

I felt like we had picked out a super strong will high maintenance naughty puppy at first!! I also felt like I was a bad person for not being immediately bonded to her and for feeling like this was all too much and even regretting getting her! But I have been doing a lot of research and it turns out all of this is very normal for new puppy owners, and that things do get better, and many things I were worried were dangerous or bad traits unique to her are actually just normal puppy behaviors that can be trained or grown out of. Whew!

I’m feeling like I am finally getting a handle on handling my doggy! And I can tell she is settling into routine as well. The trickiest part is coordinating with family members in caring for her and keeping her training consistent. I am thinking of making a rules chart to put on the fridge to help everyone respond to unwanted behaviors in the same way.

Another successful day down with her. She is 11 weeks old in 10 mins. Nearly 3 months!! How has time gone by so fast?!

Yup. Itís totally normal to feel overwhelmed in the beginning. Thatís why theyíre so cute... if they werenít, weíd drown them! LOL!

Sounds like you are doing just fine! I kind of had the same feelings you did at first. Like what did I get myself into! Willow was so much different in every way from my corgi. But the bond is strong now and I love her to pieces! I just had to get used to Willow's energy and quirks but she is just a sweet goof! Loves to play, loves people (except kids), loves to camp but also loves to crash and sleep.

We felt overwhelmed with Penelope at first too! In fact, we used to joke that every Monday we would decide whether to bring her back to breeder. Each Tuesday we would say, hey penny you made it another week.
It really does get easier. They are such a smart breed.
I canít imagine life without Penelope at this point.
