Problems with 2-puppy litters?

My breeder just had a litter of 2 puppies, and we will get second pick. I know singleton litters can be problematic because there may be a lack of dog-dog socialization, but does the same apply to litters with 2 pups? Will a puppy learn proper bite inhibition from just one sibling (and his mama)? The breeder is planning more breedings, so hopefully there will be additional puppies around, but of course, you never know.

Also, will there be an established alpha dog with such a small litter? I am a completely novice dog owner and really don't want the alpha. Or is that something that generally happens with larger litters?

I have never heard of a problem with two puppy litters. They can still learn from each other. It's not the same as a singleton. And even singletons can turn out fine... it just places a greater responsibility on both the breeder and the new owner.

Better to just forget about the "alpha" dog stuff. Two puppies will be fine. It should have no effect on them at all.
