Suzy, Some dogs do get upset tummys when they get shots. My Lhasa always has a slight reaction to the kennel cough vaccine, he coughs for a few days. At first this was a bit scary, now we expect it and it is important he have it. Sometimes dogs get an upset from a change in activities, like going to the vet and even visiting at someones house. Out of all of the shots the rabies is important because if your dog even nips someone and it gets reported and you can not prove the dog had the shot your dog can be seized and destroyed. Hope she is back to normal in the morning.

As Robbie said, dogs can have a reaction to ANY of their shots. If you are concerned, call the vet. Many times, in the case of an animal they know is prone to allergic reactions, they will pre-medicate with benadryl. That's what we have to do with my cat, who is VERY vaccine sensitive.

Thanks Karen and Robbie I was up about five times last night . I put a big sleeping bag on my bed in case she had a accident although the sweet girl did her usual lick in my face.
The internet says to hold back on her food said up to 24 hr. She still will not drink . But she is playing with Zoey who also had a problem three days before.
I'll call the Vet if she does not start drinking.

You should call the vet anyway. Even if you don't need to bring her in, you want it in her record that she had a reaction like this to her Rabies shot.

One of my dogs had a bad reaction to a shot years ago, her face swelled up and we had to rush her back to the vet. Whe time came for her booster, the vet used another manufacturer and she had no reaction (we did stay at the vet for a few hours to see). Now that they can do titers, perhaps next time she is due for a shot, the vet can do this and not have to give her another.

My vet said rabies was the vaccination that most commonly has reactions, the most common being a swollen face. She advised me to call or email her if there were any reactions. I would just give your vet a call or email and see what they say.

Last night I read up on all those swelling up reactions and diarrhea was listed also . I was afraid to go to sleep. She is much better.I will let the vet know although She was a bit under the weather before the shot she was taking anti inflammatory s that upset her stomach maybe a como of both.
Next wed she is having her baby teeth pulled. Our vet wants to wait tell after her first heat to spay. He says the latest studies say it is better to let them go threw a heat has to do with their bladder. I have such a bad memory
any way I remember him talking about urinary track infections .

With all due respect to the breeders out there. Titers and I have them done on my older health problem dog, the one shot that is a law is rabies and if your dog bites someone the dog can be seized and put down, no day in court nothing! It is not worth the risk. There are other brands on the market.
