So my puppy is almost 6 months, but I'm having the hardest time getting her to eat in the morning. Would it be okay to double her intake at dinner time instead of feeding her twice?

Mine ate less in the morning and is ravenous at dinner, so I finally altered the portions slightly. its a super scientific system - I use the 2nd stripe on my measuring scoop to give him a little less in the morning and a full scoop at dinner

I know there are dogs that eat once a day but I think Id check with the vet since shes still a puppy. Id probably alter portion sizes first and make sure shes eating the right amount of food per day and not overeating.

If you decide to try once a day, Im not sure Id double the food. I think I would calculate the daily calories and then watch her weight and behavior for a few weeks. When I made changes to portion sizes and meal times I always erred on the side of less because its so hard for dogs to lose weight! If our puppy seemed nippy during a food change I would do a little extra training and treats that day and then increase his food by a tablespoon or so per meal. My goals for my dog are for him to feel and look physically fit, have enough food that hes still food motivated during the day to come when I call his name with a treat, yet also not hungry and scavenging for crumbs.

My breeder told me they can get low blood sugar if they go too long without eating. You could do a little wet food in the am to encourage breakfast ?
