Home with Zorro - I have forgotten so much

We are home with 10 week old Zorro. He did great on the 6th hour drive home. We stopped 2x for potty breaks. I spread the pee pad on the back seat and he did his business. Just whined a little when we put him back in the carrier.

Introduced him to Loki. We already have a fight for lap on going but no antagonism. Loki sniffed around, barked in play mode, pushed him out of the way to my lap.

I have been gone for 8 days so need to unpack, go through the mail, etc. I canít watch Zorro so I just put him in expen. He is not happy! I am in and out of the room but he is whining. Do I just let him whine?

This all feels knew. BTW, Loki is sleeping peacefully on the back of the sofa. Iíll post pictures tomorrow.

Good luck with the new puppy, Barb. I remember how much work they are but also how much joy they bring. As long as I was sure the puppy did not have to go out to potty, I would let him whine. Canít wait for more Zorro pictures!

I know what you mean about forgetting so much, itís been 9yrs but I feel like Iíve never had one before. I agree with Diane. As long as heís empty, Iíd leave him. Rewarding a whine by letting him out will just teach him that whining = freedom/attention/etc.
