Mine is very delicate with leaves, like he wants to collect them. He’ll carry it inside and lay down with it in his mouth, but won’t actually eat it. We had a brief issue with him guarding small rocks and twigs he brought in from outside because my kids would panic and dramatically take them away. It was quickly resolved by teaching them to trade for a treat instead. We didn’t do very well teaching “drop it,” but he does freeze when he hears “no” because we only use it when it’s serious.
Our yard was “puppy proofed” against poisonous plants, and we supervise closely outside, too. We’ve done what we can to control anything that is especially dangerous, but sometimes they’re just so curious when they’re little!
I don’t think he’s tried to chew on a twig since the teething stage passed.
