Charley Proof

Thought you might like to see my brand new $60 puppy gate. It took Charley all of 12 seconds before we had to modify it. Did I mention how smart Charley is???? And he's only 11 weeks old.

Oh....and I bought 3 of them.

Haha, thatís awesome!

I bought a nice wood accordion fence, and it was kind of expensive, but then I took it apart to make 3 different built in gates, so it ended up being a great deal It looked great, which I was really proud of, but I had to take the most important one down recently and repaint (by my front door) because itís damaging the wall. Iíve been trying to figure out a way to make it like a sliding gate. I probably need one of these in the meantime because Iím on my third set of casters trying to make it work! What I REALLY want to do is like a mini pocket door, but my husband is pretty skeptical.

I know Iím a terrible influence, but you should definitely try to get video of his gate escape! We had this spot where ours escaped when he was a tiny puppy, and he was SO proud and happy when he did it, but then he grew and couldnít get out anymore. Of course, thatís good news, but I do wish we had more video of his mischievous puppy antics

I've said it before..the little black Havs are almost a separate breed. They seem to be extra smart, hardheaded, full of mischief and adorable!
Beware the fun has just begun!

oohhhhh - a pocket door or gate would be the perfect answer!

What I'd really like a video of would be Charley's papa sitting on the floor next to the gate (still installing it...) moaning loudly, "OHHHHHH Nooooooo!!!! OOOOhhhhhh NNNNNoooooo!"

:-)

YYYEEEESSSSS!!! to all of it! We're really new at this, but boy does he seem to be hardheaded! Smart? He's figured out that I'm the primary caregiver, etc. and that if I pick him up he "might" be going into the expen. So he's fixed that by running from me every time I bend down to pick him up. That's not so cute..... Luckily for him, the adorable cute little Charley still outweighs the mischievous Charley!

Any suggestions on the running from me? Yep - there's kibble in my pocket

Give him a treat, like dropping a little kibble on the floor in the expen, so it's great fun for him when he goes in his pen.

Yep! Pixel was so little that she walked right through our baby gates when we brought her home! LOL! Loke gating a hamster! We ended up zip tying plexiglass panels to ours.
