When to Feed Twice a Day?

Good afternoon all,

I was just wondering when I should start feeding Chester twice a day instead of three times a day.

He's almost 5.5 months old and is about 8lbs.

Thanks!

I think now would be a good time to start 2x a day feeding. I think I started Havee on 2 meals when he was 4 1/2 mos.

I gradually switch to 2/day at 6 months. Reducing the middle meal a bit every other day (and adding that to the meal that will be the largest - dinner at my house - until they are at 2 meals. I've been doing this for over 35 years and it has always been positive.

I like Becky's idea.

Kodi told me when he was ready... he simply stopped eating a third meal each day.

Roscoe did the same, he was around 4.5 months. Stella came home at 3.5 months and was never interested in eating a third meal. They free feed though, so I give them 1/2 day's food around 7:30 am and 1/2 day's food around 6 pm. They usually eat most of their food in the morning and leave a few bites to snack on throughout the day.
