Yeah, Tessa - FINALLY

Tessa is 11 and half months old and FINALLY learned to jump up onto our laps when we are sitting in our chairs. It's really cute actually, she runs towards us and looks like she is taking off and ends up in your lap with her face in your face. I'm not sure she even realizes what she's done. Jumping down is another thing though. She still won't even try to do it.

She also won't even try to jump up onto the bed even though it is a platform bed and not really very high off the ground. She sits at the edge of the bed and cries to come up and when she wants down, she sits on the edge of the bed and cries to be put down. Oh well, at least I know if I put her up on something she'll stay there.

The funny thing about all of this is that she can actually jump straight up into my arms vertically. Anybody else's pup have trouble jumping up on the furniture?

We always laugh at Baxter because his depth perception is often "off". He'll be running at full tilt straight for the couch and take off a split second too early and run right into the side of it! He has no problem jumping off things, though. When she whines to get down, perhaps you should just give her a gentle "shove" instead of helping her down.

Tessa's Mommy - count your blessings, is all I can say. Finn scares the cr-- out of me! I worry so that he is going to hurt himself with all the running and leaping he has done. I was making myself crazy with trying to keep him off things - I finally gave up. I know there are others on here whose Havs don't jump on things, or at least waited awhile to learn.

Bessie will not jump up on anything. But she jumps off.
I know she can do it but she is such a baby.
Rick has spoiled her and Max............

I often refer to Ruby as my Mexican jumping bean. She literally jumps straight up in the air over and over again till she gets my attention like she's on a pogo stick.

Kobe is a jumper too. He has jumped on and off of couch and bed since he was 3 months old. At 7 months now he will run across the room and jump into my arms when I am standing. I was worried that he would hurt himself early on but there is nothing I can do to keep him from jumping and having fun. I am going to take him to kindergarten in March and then hopefully to an agility course for some fun!!

Gibbs and Probie are 3, and Probie still does not jump on anything. Gibbs has finally learned to jump up on my chair to sit with me because I finally refused to pick him up any more. Probie prefers his bed. I do like it that way since I really don't want them on the furniture unless they are invited, and the fact I have a $3k leather sofa! (bought prior to g-kids and pets as a empty nest splurge) That also makes it easy to contain them with my small walls I put up when we are gone. They still don't know that it would be so EASY to jump on them
