I hope you like this cute story. My sister purchased her 21 year old daughter an 8 week old Yorkie for Christmas. The puppy weighed about 1 1/2 pounds when they brought him home, so you can imagine how small he is.
When the puppy first came into the house, my sister's Hav, Solie, wasn't impressed at all. Little growls, running away from the pup, you know what I mean.
After a few days the dogs started playing together and they noticed that Solie was trying to carry the puppy in her mouth. Well, last week, everyone had to go out, so my sister decided to let the puppy have the run of the rec room and left the door open so that Solie could go down to visit. When they came home, the puppy and Solie were upstairs. They tried to get the puppy to go up the stairs, but he was just too small. He made it up two steps and couldn't get any farther.
So the only thing that we can figure out is that Solie carried the puppy up the stairs in her mouth. There is really no other way for the puppy to get up the stairs.
What do you think - mother's instinct? Solie's is 6 years old and never had a litter of puppies but the instinct is still there. Here's a picture, cute little devil, isn't he?
