Do puppies dream?

Our Cooper is 14 weeks now and when he naps he makes yelping sounds, only way I can describe them. His feet aren't moving just these sad yelping sounds for a bit. Are these bad dreams? Do puppies even dream? He's done this since the first day we picked him up.
Curious to know if anyone else's pup did this.

Mine do that too. Even Bumi who is almost 3. The kicker is the litter one (Toby) he goes on his back and stars moving his legs like he is riding a bike, then goes back to sleep, mouth gaping open utterly relaxed. I love watching them sleep!

Every dog I've ever had has done it! From little yips to full out growls. Don't know if it's dreams, but it sure looks like it, doesn't it?

Oh for sure. Stanley knows ... http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/.../do-dogs-dream Molly dreams about Christmas. She just the other day , woke up and ran downstairs to see if there was something there for her under the tree. Yeah , I just took it down finally yesterday LOL

haha yea I definitely think they dream. Rex does this too and I think it's hilarious he's done it since we brought him home too he's now 15 weeks Love watching him sleep. Keep trying to get it on video but of course every time I move an inch he's up and wide awake wondering where I'm going HA!

Oh Dave, I am so glad to hear we aren't the only ones who still had one up this late! Just took it down this morning!! It's artficial. I was trying to get a picture of Finn under it and I never did get a good one. Oh well, next Christmas.

I notice Augie dreams and whimpers and twitches. Haven't noticed it with Finn as much. But I notice it with Augie when I am holding him and he is sleeping. Finn won't let us hold him while he sleeps.

Maya doesn't move her paws when she sleeps, but very often she will have several yips. So cute. So I have a kid that talks in her sleep and a pup that barks in her sleep. No wonder why I don't get any sleep.

Momo doesn't usually make noises, but, those paws and her eyes can twitch up a storm. Also, her tail wags. It's pretty funny to watch.

Donnie, Momo and Ume's mom and loving it!

According to my Dh I talk in my sleep. I have been known to wake up in the middle of the night with a full blown "laugh Attack" cracking up and waking up DH and the dogs, then I go back to sleep. Of course, the next morning I don't remember what I was laughing about!

Maybe my dogs take after me!
