Started Puppy K today...

Poor Timmy was so scared at class today, I was very impressed by how the class was run. The trainer assured me that he just need some time to get adjusted and some little guys just take more time then others. There are six puppies in the class, we do some leash type training, sit, down, name recognition, charge up word and more and then break for playtime, potty break etc... The puppies are split 3 and 3 for free play since three of the puppies are Labs and quite crazy. Timmy has a Cockapoo and small mixed breed he played with, but all he did was run away from the butt smelling! They exposed the puppies to wheel chairs, crutches and BIG stuffed animals at free time too. He ate a lot of treats which he loved and promptly passed out in the car on the way home. Sorry pix is sideways.. why did it do that?

Glad Timmy started his class.
What is he scared of? Did the class leader give you any tips on this? Is he used to meeting other pups?
Love his in the car pic!

I'm glad I got him in a class too. I'm sure he'll be better once he's used to going. He's always been a bit cautious, the breeder even said that. Most of his litter mates were crazy puppies! I have two cats and wanted a dog that wouldn't excessively berate the cats, and Timmy has fit in great. He bugs them, yes, but he's not excessively bothersome. She thought Timmy would be a good fit with our family, I have older daughters (12 & 15) and I'm home most of the day. He's a real love bug. He LOVES people, no fear what so ever. He was timid with new toys when we first got him, but now he's doing much better. His teacher said he definitely needs more socialization with other dogs, but to be very careful of who those dogs are until he's more comfortable with dogs in general. Some dogs might be sweet as can be and wouldn't hurt a fly, but their play could be frightening to some dogs especially if they are larger. He's met my neighbor's dogs when they're out walking, but I don't know any puppies so he's been a bit isolated.
