When Yogi was a puppy I use to always get a lot of hair now I only get a lot if I have not brushed in awhile. Misty seldom matts and when I brush her her I don't get much hair. Gabby is a cutie.

Gabby is darling. I used to get a ton of hair like Robbie, but now I hardly comb Lizzie. She gets a good comb out on bath day and then every 4 days or so. She is two in a few weeks. I think once they are adult their coat is so much easier to handle.

I'm actually saving Kodi's hair. There are places tou can send it and get it spun into yarn. I want a Kodi scarf some day! I even keep his black hair in a separate bag from the white so that I can have a black stripe!

Karen if you are going that far, then you should spin the yarn yourself. I actually thought about it once and then decided that I never wanted to knit ever again. But the hair is like mohair and would work up about the same way I would imagine.

My understanding is that dog hair isn't quite strong enough on its own, so they have to add a certain amount of another wool to it to make it workable. Plus, I have no intention of knitting something myself, let alone spinning the yarn. I knit half a slipper once, and that was plenty! Fortunately, my MIL knits continuously. She could whip up a nice Kodi scarf for me in an evening or two!

I think a bit of Gabby brown would look very nice with the Black and White Kodi hair for a scarf. I started saving again in January I threw out my last bag I saved when I moved. I wish I had separated it that was a good idea!
And Havanese hair isn't dog hair its better I think it would spin on its own because of the slight wave,
