Best crate suggestions

I need to purchase a new crate for charley. he's defineitly outgrown is older one whihc is A Petmate deluxe Vari Kennel Jr Intermediate. He needs the large now. I've liked his first kennel but to door latch on the large is different and I don't like it as much. Does anyone have a crate that they really like??

Mine both use Midwest wire crates to sleep in every night. They love their "rooms".

I wonder - is that better to use than a kennel for sleeping? It's probably roomier and airer. By the way, what size do you use?

They do allow more air flow, and can be MUCH roomier, depending on the size you get. That said, Kodi much prefers his plastic crates. He has refused to sleep in his larger wire crate at all since he got scared by the fire works earlier this month.

Both my boys have the Midwest Life Stages crate. I think it is 24 inches in length. They love their crates.

Maccabee has a Petmate deluxe Vari Kennel Jr Large (with a pillow stuffed in the back, since he is so small). We've never had a problem with the latch.

I used to schlep the kennel to the country house (a.k.a. my fiance's house) when we go there, but after a recent trip we discovered Maccabee sleeps perfectly well in his Sherpa bag (large). I wouldn't use the Sherpa long term, but it is great for a couple nights.
