Potty Training - Starting Over

Jinx went to the bathroom 3 times in the house so far today and the entire place smells. I am going back to square one and it's going to be awful because he will bark like a banshee to be locked in his crate while my husband and I are home (we both work from home). I don't know what else to do. He's good through the night, but come the morning it's horrendous. He will pee outside for the first time of the day, but won't poop. I can spend 15 minutes out there and he will even run back to the door to go back outside, but he won't always poop. He will however go inside 5 minutes after we are back in. And then he will pee in the house about 50% of the time without telling me he has to go. Mostly, I try to keep him and Gryff on the same schedule which is outside 5 or 6 times a day. Still, Jinx goes in the house when he wants to. Grrrr.

If this is a sudden change, are you sure he doesn't have a uti or something??

Angie and Trooper

Trooper is a Moptop boy! If only I could think up a registered name...

No, it's not. He still hasn't gotten the hang of it.

That is so frustrating. How old is he? I found that until around 12 weeks, Benny couldn't really hold it and would pee whenever. Also, does he eat on a schedule? I found that that is the best way for me to know when he has to poop. Same with access to water... if he drinks whenever he wants then you'll never know when to expect him to pee

Rosie does the pee outside and then does the poop in the house. I watched to see what it was. Well it is either exercise (finally waking up0 or that she eats. Now at night time, she will pee outside, come in and eat her kibble and ask to go out again. But it is ecause she ate between times. So I try to make sure in the morning that I take her back outside as soon as I our my coffee. Then I let her alone out there and watch at the window. She goes behind the hen house and poops, then we are good for the day.

The worse thing is we took her traveling last week and two of the hotels we stayed in smelled of urine. She never peed in the room, but as soon as we got home she christened our house. But Sunday morning I caught her in the act and fussed at her and she hasn't done it again. I have to get my carpets professionally cleaned this fall. Rosie is 3. I never intend to take her on a trip again.
