Question Silly question??

But once your puppy hits 1 year old he's not considered a puppy anymore right? I know it must sound silly, but Duncan will be hitting the 8 month mark and the vet wants him on adult food.I was just curious!!

Prior to feeding raw food, both my pups preferred adult kibble to puppy kibble. They'd eat better. My vet said it would be okay to switch them at 5 months.

I agree with Kara. he is probably at a good weight, height, etc. so time to move him off the high calorie/fat food to an adult food.

Dot, I switched Kubrick from a puppy food to an adult food for active dogs (so it has a bit more protein - 25%) at 4.5months and his weight is great! He is still gaining and he is doing very well. I'm sure that 8 months is a good time to switch. But as far as a "name" dogs are considered puppies up to 1 year of age. But you can call them whatever you want as long as you want.

Cindy, I love your new avatar! Very cute!

That's what I was going to say too--except I switched Quince at 6 months.
