droopy tail

I was wondering if anyone has a problem with their puppies tail's? Titan seem's more comfortable just letting his tail hang while Katie has always had her up and around her rump. He does hold it up sometimes but it seem's to be down most of the time.

Cash's tail was like that as a puppy and he still does let it hang down more than Jasper but I have to say now most of the time it is up over his back.

Judy, I have met some Havs whose tails have never curled up over their backs (up to a five year old Hav). Kubrick's been curled up since he was 10 weeks old so I don't know that much about it myself, but it does happen.

JUdy, my guys usually keep their tails low when they are afraid, or with an "alpha", or nervous. It could simply be that Titan's tail is lilke that,. but I would watch the behavior amd see when he has it up , and when down.

Gucci keeps her tail up unless she's scared or nervous, like at the vet or something. But I do have a friend who's Hav carries their tail pretty much on the floor all the time. I guess there may be some genetic predisposition for some?

Quincy's is up when he is happy and at play etc.(most of the time)but if he gets in trouble or Vinnie looks at him wierd,he will walk away with it down (kinda sad like).Do you have other dogs?

I just have to add- that with Cash, yes it goes down if he is apprehensive-- but sometimes if he is just relaxed and calm it will be down too--- if he is happy and playing, or if he is alert barking it is when he carries it the highest. So I don't think it nessesarily means that titan is fearful or apprehensive it could just be his make-up-- I had it explained to me as a Cuban tail set- it is a little lower and when/if it does curl up it is held up higher not curled tight to the back. Cash seemed to grow into his tail. And now he has a magnificent plume!!! Is Titan the beautiful chocolate puppy that is in your avitar?

Sedona's tail is down when she's totally relaxed. McKenna has a cinammon bun tail so it's always curled up unless she's asleep!

I think a lot of it is attitude as well. Dora's tail is quickly down when the hair dryer comes on! It is also very high up when we play tug of war or I scratch her butt, she goes crazy. But there are different types of tails as well. Does Titan change where his tail is or is it just always down?

Both my boys carry their tails on their back, unless they are scared. They loosen up if they are running hard. Bella holds her tail up but it does not curl over her back. It just kinda sticks straight up with a slight bend!
