iPad apps

For fun I downloaded a couple of free ipad apps - of ticking clocks and in utero heartbeat sounds. Has anyone tried this approach for easing your new puppies transition to their new home?

I got a "snuggle pup.". It has a heartbeat and handwarmers make it feel warm. I picked on that looked like my pup's litter mates. She cuddled it on the car ride home and has slept with it every night since. She stopped needing the warmth and heartbeat after about a month. It's still her favorite toy.

Snuggle Pup - what a cool idea. I want one for myself! I had tried to buy one a couple of months ago, but every place seemed to be out of them.

I ordered it from Amazon and it came before we picked up our puppy. I took it with us and rubbed it on her mom and litter mates so it had a familiar smell. I feel that it really helped with her adjustment.

I used the white noise app on "air conditioner" since day 1 and it seems to work. Maybe it's just a sign to him that it's bedtime, but since he started in our room with a noise machine I was afraid to not use something for him once we moved him to the mudroom. Now it's our nightly routine to turn it on

Cute! And what do you play for him when you have to leave him alone during the day?

A friend of mine always puts on the Weather Channel for her dog - soothing music interspersed with human voices, and no loud screams or bangs.

With our recent weather here in the Midwest, I hope she knows what she's doing....
