Small update and some ??

Piper is doing very well. She was almost at a month with no accidents inside..and then she peed on the floor. Ooops. She has abandoned the bell entirely and will whine to go out.

At her last trip to the vet she weighed just a touch more than 7lbs.

We had her spayed 8 days ago, after talking to our vet about it. The surgery went well, but we did have some vomiting for a few days, first from the anesthetic and then because she was gobbling food. All has settled back into a regular routine now thankfully. We have done some "spot washing" and I think we are all looking forward to her first full bath post-spay. LOL

She has fit into our family very well and my younger two have started to really bond with her as well. I love watching them all together.

My oldest has been having a lot of asthma issues. They started shortly after we brought Piper home and have escalated to her needing to be on her maintenance inhalers again, which she hasn't needed in years. We shaved Piper down, in hopes that it would help, but so far no change. We wipe her down (the dog) every time she comes in from outside and bath her often. Any other suggestions on what to try? (ETA: We also have very little carpet, a vacuume with a filter, we keep Piper out of the kids bedrooms, and other general things, like washing often, etc.)

Also, we need to go away for 5 days and we aren't able to take Piper. The lady who grooms Piper is going to watch her. I am happy because she will keep Piper in the house with her and Piper knows her. I am going to take her kennel, a few toys, her food and her blanket. Any other suggestions to make the stay easier for her?

Sounds like great work going! Do you have shampoo to reduce odor and little bit of shedding? Maybe that would help...

Does your daughter take Piper out often? I found that my asthma and allergies got MUCH worse after I got Bear because I am very allergic to a lot of outdoor trees/grass/pollen. I am also on a maintenance inhaler along with singular (and allegra AND nasonex daily). All of my meds combined definitely keep me on track. At first, I thought it was Bear because all of my symptoms became so much worse when I got him, but then when I had more tests run, I found out it isn't him at all....it was being outside so much trying to house break him!
I feel her pain.....I hope it gets better for her!

You could leave Piper an old t-shirt you've slept in. She might find it comforting at bed time.

She was helping with Piper a lot, but we've tried to limit her exposure, which is tough, as she loves her pup. She plays outside a lot and hasn't had an issue, but...it has been a wetter year than usual. I am going to call her allergist Monday and discuss it with him as well.
