After seeing the Toby and Daisy thread . . .

It couldn't help but point out to me just how wild and all over his face Bailey's hair is. You can't see his eyes like you can the others. I've tried combing the hair up, or down or to the side and nothing works. I don't know what to do. It looks like most dogs have the hair either growing up or ultimately falling down toward the side. Bailey's goes straight up to cover his eyes. I'm getting really tempted to cut something but don't want to screw it up for the future.

LOL Geri. Riley was the same way, we use to call him messy face. You are smart not to cut it, I did once and had to start all over again.

Geri - it does grow - just hang tight. What some people do is put a small rubber band between the eyes to hold the hair when it's short. Looks kind of funny but it works.

Geri, Kodi's hair grows that way too. Since he doesn't like having it in a topknot, I keep him in bangs with his eyes trimmed close. Shelby's bangs grown down over her eyes and I can keep her hair up and she doesn't mind. But I keep her trimmed also, because I like to see her face.

I like to see their faces too. I think what made it even worse for me today is that I took Bailey to work and our secretary said "he's not as pretty as Milo is he?" He's beautiful to me, in a totally different way but he has his own charm. I do wish I could see his eyes though. They're beautiful.

Geri, I now trim both Tucker and Tessa's hair between their eyes and I am so glad I did! It's made a world of difference and as for keeping it up I am fully prepared to do so. It only takes a second for me to clip it.

I'm not showing them and they are more comfortable without hair poking in their eyes and making them water. And we are happy to see their sweet eyes and expressions. It's made all our lives happier. A topknot is out of the question. Tucker thinks it's a pull toy and it's out in seconds.

I'm sorry your secretary said such a hurtful thing. I hope she didn't mean it like it came out! I think some people don't realize how our dogs are like our children and criticisms are a no-no!

Edited to add it goes without saying that Bailey is adorable! maybe your secretary needs glasses? :-)

Geri, Kubrick used to be like that too. Just hang on 2 or 4 weeks and it will grow out!

I think Bailey is as cute as can be! I bet she just liked Milo's coloring better or something! Sometimes people just say stupid things without thinking. Don't let it bother you In a few months--she'll think Bailey's prettier then Milo or something. We all know how handsome they are,and We know You do too----so.....what does she know??? Nothing!

maybe some do and some don't? Tessa's never did. It got longer but continued to grow "up" obscuring her eyes. I tried all kinds of products and couldn't get it to lay down. Just taking a little snippet from the corner of the eyes finally took care of it.
