Okay, it's official and we have to give Amanda's Dasher credit for kicking off this incredibly exciting new trend with the Forum's Havanese puppies.
As you recall, Dasher taught Amanda's Maltese, Belle, how to play. Before Dasher, she really wouldn't play with other dogs (not thinking she's one herself).
Well, I can now confirm that this is a unique new trend with the Forum's puppies. For the last 10 days (in addition to packing to get ready to move), we've been puppy sitting one of our well-loved member's 12-week old male. This darling guy has been begging my Maltese, Buddy, to play with him. Of course Buddy, who screams like a girl when playing, has totally ignored him, barked or run away.
So with literally an hour to go before the puppy goes back home
...the puppy makes one last wholehearted attempt...barking, butt in the air...begging..."please, please, please play with me." Low and behold, I am witness to a Run Like Hell between Buddy and the puppy!
The had a blast. So now with two confirmed sightings of this remarkable new trend, you can say you also have a "Maltese Play Trainer" or MPT for short. My guess that any play-challenged dog may be susceptible to our Forum puppies unique training skills.
And for those inquiring minds, MeMe thought I brought her home a new play toy and I'm sure will miss him terribly. My girls now know I am the best mom ever to surprise them with a "new" puppy, albeit temporarily. As for me, it was bittersweet, after having lost my Pom, Baron, just a few weeks earlier. The first morning I took him out to go potty, he gave me a big puppy kiss...and I cried. What amazing little dogs our sweet Havanese are!
Amanda, repost your video of Dasher and Belle playing or the link. Everyone else, let's find out what other amazing new trends we can find with the Forum puppies.
