New Trend Confirmed with Forum Puppies -MPT

Okay, it's official and we have to give Amanda's Dasher credit for kicking off this incredibly exciting new trend with the Forum's Havanese puppies.

As you recall, Dasher taught Amanda's Maltese, Belle, how to play. Before Dasher, she really wouldn't play with other dogs (not thinking she's one herself).

Well, I can now confirm that this is a unique new trend with the Forum's puppies. For the last 10 days (in addition to packing to get ready to move), we've been puppy sitting one of our well-loved member's 12-week old male. This darling guy has been begging my Maltese, Buddy, to play with him. Of course Buddy, who screams like a girl when playing, has totally ignored him, barked or run away.

So with literally an hour to go before the puppy goes back home ...the puppy makes one last wholehearted attempt...barking, butt in the air...begging..."please, please, please play with me." Low and behold, I am witness to a Run Like Hell between Buddy and the puppy! The had a blast. So now with two confirmed sightings of this remarkable new trend, you can say you also have a "Maltese Play Trainer" or MPT for short. My guess that any play-challenged dog may be susceptible to our Forum puppies unique training skills.

And for those inquiring minds, MeMe thought I brought her home a new play toy and I'm sure will miss him terribly. My girls now know I am the best mom ever to surprise them with a "new" puppy, albeit temporarily. As for me, it was bittersweet, after having lost my Pom, Baron, just a few weeks earlier. The first morning I took him out to go potty, he gave me a big puppy kiss...and I cried. What amazing little dogs our sweet Havanese are!

Amanda, repost your video of Dasher and Belle playing or the link. Everyone else, let's find out what other amazing new trends we can find with the Forum puppies. Havs Rock!

Lisa, that's great! They really are very play-centric little things, aren't they?

Aw, sweet story!

For us, it was the opposite. Cooper never played much with us, or Daisy. Since Bodie came along, he runs all over the place with him, actually looking like he's having a blast. He's started to get aggresive lately, which sucks. But, it was fun while it lasted.

all right is confirmed, some one needs to send me a playful 12 week old puppy to puppy sit and to teach Jasper to play. (do we think maybe he thinks he's a maltese?) great tale!

It's not only Maltese. My neighbors just rescued a 10 week old pup - they say German Shep mix, but I say Rotty. Anyway, my neighbor told me when the new pup, Raja, hears my two barking, she shakes and hides.

So, the neighbors are now teaching her to potty outside and walk on a leash. Kodi sees the puppy and starts crying and running to me because he wants to go see it. I take him outside, and the puppy starts spinning around on the leash trying to get away from the big dog, Kodi. Kodi goes into the play stance, butt in the air, Raja gets the message and they start to play.

It's two weeks later and Raja is now 15 lbs (Kodi is just under 13 lbs) and she loves playing with Kodi and Shelby. They have a playdate at about 7:30 most nights and she says the pup goes inside and sleeps.

Lisa- Well I could take a million videos now! Isabelle has gotten so comfortable with Dasher that he is the one running away from her <BG> She expects daily play time now! Inquiring minds want to know who captured Buddy's heart? And that is a sign that you should get to keep this puppy!!!

Just for anyone who didn't see it: Miss Isabelle can play!

Thinking of adding a Neezer, check out this thread!
