DesiLu - color?

Hi everyone,
I'm new, my name is Teelee and my new puppy is 3 months old now. She is a gold sable. She was quite brown at birth, and is now turning more cream/gold with still a lot of black ticking. I was wondering what color she will end up as?? Any ideas?
This is what she was when we picked her out and how she is now.

It totally depends on the genetics. Some of the gold sables end up nearly cream in color after they've been groomed and had the tips cut off. A true gold sable probably won't get quite that light, but you may be surprised at how light she gets with age.

It looks like Desilu may retain the gold on her ears even though her body is getting pretty light.

She looks like she's lightening up quite a bit! Do you mean "ticking" as in the tiny dalmation like spots some dogs have or do you mean "tipping"? Lots of sable dogs have darker tips that grow right off the dog and you lose them when the dog is trimmed. She may lighten quite a bit, but you never know, she could darken again as she gets older! With Havanese it's always a surprise what color you'll get!

I love this game! Have you seen the colors of the rainbow website? If not you should check it out, there are tons of pics of havanese changing colors throughout their life.

She's beautiful! I don't know anything about the dogs changing color but I think she's gorgeous!

a beauty

I love how the sables lighten but keep the dark tips. They always turn out stunning!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!
Loving Havanese since 2003
