Havanese breeder in the NYC area??

So....
Castro has been making the social rounds, meeting all our friends. One couple, whom we've been friends with for ages (the wife, anyway...), are considering a Havanese Puppy.

She works for leisure, at a Gallery, traveling the world; he is a screenwriter, who stays home. they own a 3BR home in a green and dog friendly building in Tribeca; of all units, they are the only ones without a dog! Both of them have the time and resources to care and spoil any puppy rotten.

After meeting and playing with Castro, they are determined, more than ever, to get a Havanese Puppy. I told them about the Havanese Forum and mentioned that there are probably breeders in the immediate area who will have some fabulous puppies for them.

That being said... I'd really like to get some recommendations on breeders in the NYC area that I would like to pass on to them, so they, in turn, can do their due diligence in acquiring a pet.

Any help would be appreciated. Apologies if this posting is in the wrong area....

Joan, I would start with your local New York Havanese Club. Here is a link to their site http://www.gnyhc.org/. I know that there are folks here that live in NYC (or the area) on the forum with fabulous pups, (i.e. Kubrick-Lina's gorgeous boy, and Guapo-Michelle and Allen's darling puppy, and of course, Laurie and Her lovely "l" doggies) that can be of some help to you.

I will send you a PM with my breeder's information. She is in the Philadelphia suburbs. (about 1.5 hours to NYC I would think)

Just one more thought...would your friends consider adopting a havanese from a rescue. This little girl just looks absolutely amazing! Here is the link http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/dis...petid=11588379

Hey, Amy... she is such a cutie; I asked the hubby if he would consider another dog... He said NO, but then again, he shows no signs of MHS yet...

I give it another 6 months...

I had been looking for a while before I found MoMo. Not much chance of finding a breeder at meet up to my expectation. Finally decided to get MoMo from a Toledo WA breeder.

Hey! That's where Todd came from! Alderon Havanese right?
Stephanie (the breeder) is awesome.
She was great about listening to what we wanted in a dog and she picked the perfect puppy for our family.
Luckily I live right down the road from her and so it was nice to be able to meet her when I picked up Todd.
We're still in contact. I e-mail pic's of Todd regularly and bug her for advice all of the time.
Who are Momo's Dam and Sire?

Eva, Mom to Todd....2 year old short hair Havanese
