Unhappy Runny stools!!

Hi, well I finally got Princesa to eat, she really liked the solid gold wee bit. I did a 2 week transition and after 1 week of doing fine on it she has the runs! i took her to the vet and did a stool sample and she is fine but my vet game me somo antibiotics just in case because of her size. She is three months and weights 3.8 pounds. What do i do?? do i go back to the old food ( royal canin) She's been with the runs 7 days now.

Tatiana - you might want to try adding pumpkin to her food - not the pie filling kind, but just plain canned pumpkin. Try 1 tbsp. per meal and make sure she's drinking lots of water. If it doesn't settle down in another day or so, you may want to put her on chicken and rice. I know that Lina uses a 2/3 chicken, 1/3 boiled rice formula with a lot of success. You'll cause more problems if she has a chicken allergy, so make sure it's not that. You've transitioned her food so slowly, I'm sure it can't be that unless this has been going on since the beginning. If so, you may need to try a different food. Natural Balance Duck and Potato is a fairly safe bet and not super expensive.

Poor thing. Is she acting normal otherwise? Playful, drinking plenty of water, etc? Could she be getting into anything in your yard that might cause the problems? I know mine like to chew on leaves or flower petals.
If she did well on the old food maybe it wouldn't hurt to go back to it.

That really sucks. Poor little thing. Why did you change food in the first place? Was she not eating it?
