Linus is finally 3 pounds!!!

Actually, he is 3 lbs 1 oz "fully clothed" (collar and barrette!).

I took him in for his bile acid test along with other blood work. Hopefully the results will come back soon.

Here is what he did (the chair was my daughter's when she was a toddler) when we came home from the trauma of the vet and the blood draw.....

Linus is a doll and oh such a big boy already!!!
I hope the test results will show that he is a healthy puppy, just small.

Gosh I can not imagine a 3 lb. hav! YIKES! That is tiny! Quincy was bigger then that when I got him at 16 weeks. In fact 5lbs. 3 oz.

I pray he is really healthy and just extra small...wow!That's little! He is as cute as a button.......
Is your breeder standing behind him if he comes back with some serious issues?

Keeping fingers crossed for good results! He is a cutie, though!

What a darling - I'd be pooped too after a doctor visit like that. I just saw some of those chairs at Target today - can't believe I didn't think of "pet sofa" when I saw them. Way too cute.

Oh and you can check with your breeder to find out if Linus is from fast growing or slow growing lines and that way will have a better guide to evaluate his growth. I know that some of the dogs from Europe grow very s-l-o-w-l-y and often don't reach full size until 2 years. I think Miss MeMe is on the European plan.

Linus is 5 months old. He was born March 19th. He weighed about 1.5 pounds when I got him--now that's tiny! We quickly learned to skate through the house so we didn't step on him. I'm sure Pixie's mom knows what I am talking about!

I am not sure what I would do if his liver is "bad". If it is a condition that can be monitored and maintained with a proper diet or medication, I do not know if I would expect the breeder to do anything. I know for a fact it was not intentional to have a tiny puppy that might have health risks.

If he has something that is fatal, of course, we (the breeder and I) will have a serious discussion. I greatly honor life and have a low sense of "entitlement". I do not see Linus as a business transaction so it is hard to wrap my mind around "what ifs".

Any breeders out there with words of wisdom???

What a fantastic attitude!
By the way, Lulu only weighed 4 lbs at 5 months and she is now 7+ lbs and healthy. I do think she is still growing.

Linus is sure a cutie! I hope the BAT results are good and he's a healthy, just "little" boy.
