A few questions...

1. Where is the best place to get the Spa Blueberry Vanilla Face Wash.

2. I have been reading some of the issues many have with the separation anxiety with their Hav. Gracie is already very attached to me. She does sleep in a crate, but it is right next to my bed...and she is with me all day long because I work from home. I do crate her when we leave the house...any suggestions on how to avoid her having this problem as she gets older? She is 4 months right now. She doesn't really like my husband much either...lol...which bums him out.

3. Gracie weighed almost 6 pounds at her 4 month check up. How big do you think she will be. The vet said she should almost double that...

I think that's it for now! Thanks!

Well I am curious about the face wash stuff as well.
As far as the seperation I would try putting her in the crate sometimes while you are home and letting her know that she is fine being on her own. She needs to know you guys are not always going to be there. When my two were younger they would be in the there crates at different times...maybe I was cooking dinner ir getting ready or just watching t.v. I hope this helps you. I am sure you will get some good advice on here.

I got mine from South Bark. Someone else on the forum posted the link a long time ago, and I ordered it...LOVE it!

I would highly recommend an ex-pen set up when you go out. I feel it is more convenient and comfortable for the furball. The book "How to raise a puppy you can live with" is an excellent book for getting information on training, including separation anxiety. Diane Klumb'd book "The Havanese" has detailed information on ex-pen set up.

The forum has informative threads on separation anxiety. If do "Search" it will pop a number of them. I found one which has some good tips:

As to the weight, I think your breeder will be able to give you a better answer. If the parents are small, she is likely to be small. I have seen weight range from 8 lbs to 18 lbs.

Good luck!

Best, Poornima

If there is one thing I am reading more and more about with the Havanese it is issues with Seperation anxiety ..My first dog Asta did not seem quite as needy once he got past the puppy stage but maybe he was just more stoic .. he was one of those unique special ones ..
Cosmo & Ahnold are little loves but they do have seperation anxiety - if I go upstairs for 10 minutes and they are in the kitchen Cosmo will bark like hello .. come back here .. We need you ..
I know once I leave the house they are fine . My housekeeper tells me they just go to sleep ..
Cosmo was not too keen on my husband in the beginning .. I do most of the care and I do the feeding .. I think it you want you pet to bond tightly with a person they need to be involved in the caregiving especially feeding them - provide the food .. Also they need do some obedience training and provide the treats ..
Cosmo is older and he now has bonded with my husband . I think it is because we got him as a puppy and my husband & I went to the puppy classes with him and he remembers it ..
Ahnold has a diferent temperment and he has not bonded as much with him as he was older when I got him .. He prefers me but he is improving every day ..
It is a work in progress and you do have set backs . Even though they are the same breed Havanese they are not all the same breeding makes every dog is different .
Just like your children - they are all different unique and special .
There are a lot of threads that deal with this issue and you might want to look them up ..

LOL! We got Sophie at 4 mo. old. For the first two weeks she growled at my hubby. Even though she is probably closest to me, daddy is the favorite when she wants a playmate! Treats and toys given by my hubby won Sophie over for good! Keep introducing her to new places, situations, people, and other animals. Early socialization will help in the long run. As long as you stay calm, she will catch on. We got Sophie in December so it was a little harder but we dog sat for two different friends the first two weeks she was here. We also took her to all our Christmas celebrations to introduce her to friends and family. Good luck and have fun!

Unconditional love!

YOu could have your husband feed her and do some training such as sit, paw etc with treats. That way she relates him to pleasure. Quickest way to a dogs heart is through it's stomach lol

Chances are if your parents never had kids...you won't either...
