Uh Oh - Parsley?

Okay, so I added fresh parsley in Gracie's food today...and she threw up tonight and then had diarrhea (and you could see the parsley in this). So I did some searching and found this:
http://www.nocans.com/avoid.html
It says parsley can cause stomach irritation in dogs...so I guess it doesn't agree with Gracie.
That's all I can figure it is, as I didn't change anything else in her diet. She has acted fine all day...

Id been reading on some of these recent posts and think the parsley was to help prevent eye staining. I was thinking about trying it, but think now I won't.

Yes, I really liked Angel Eyes, but could use a refresher time on it because of red whiskers. But, I hate to use it since it IS a low-dose antibiotic. I kinda figure I'd better save that for when his health depends on it. It worked really well while he was on it, and for a few months after, but now it's showing up again. And, the first time I had Tucker on it for a couple of months. Wish we didn't have to worry about bacterial resistance!

It was for tear staining...she feels fine...was just playing with me and is sitting in her crate chewing on her bully...
Should I withhold food from her until tomorrow morning? She last ate about 4:30pm and didn't throw that food up.

Karla, I'm not sure, since she did eat (and hold it down) I may wait till tomorrow but I'm never good at this. When it is one of mine I just panic! But I guess if she seems hungry I might feed her maybe just some dry. I like chicken and rice when Seamus has had a bad belly but that has been only once and he is 2??? Sorry I'm not much help - but I am sending lots of hugs!

I'd guess that you could feed her a bit of dry food, too, as long as she's keeping down what she had last. Just a bit at a time, though.

And, if I had a white dog with bad tear staining, I'd try the Angel Eyes at least for one period of time to try to get a grip on it. It does work great!!

Karla,

I am sorry that Gracie had reaction to parsley, how much did you give her?
I've been using parsley for a long time and Bugsy never had any reaction to it. I guess just like us, our pupps are individuals and what works for some doesn't for the others.

I tried parsley with my first Havanese and also had a bad reaction with very loose stools. Several Havs (not all) have sensitive digestive tracts.
