Linus is almost 4 pounds at 8 months

I took him to the vet today because of his retained baby teeth. Actually, he looks like a piranha shark with almost two rows of teeth. They just won't fall out. He has to have surgery to remove them (after Thanksgiving).

A big milestone for Linus is that he actually went down the front porch stairs by himself this week. He actually did a handstand on the first step and regained his balance without falling over forward--close call. It was very funny to watch.

Here are a couple shots. I posted one on the November photos. He seems to always want a rope or toy thrown no matter what I am doing (cooking, working, showering, ...). I am sure many of you feel my pain.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Karen

That has to be the tinyest little neezer ever! He is so cute. I never thought about stairs being such an event for a baby that small. Lulu has almost flipped a couple of times herself when going from the bed to the ottoman to the floor. It's scary.
I just think Linus is the cutest little guy!!!

I love Linus...he is such a cutie!
Todd was 4 lbs at 9 weeks...he was so tiny and fragile. I can't imagine him still being so little...I would be afraid that I'd break him
Congratulations to Linus on his stair victory...he's a big boy now!

He is so cute! Wow, 4 pounds...when I got Gracie her little sister was only 3 1/2 pounds at 4 months...she was so cute, but I wouldn't even chance one that tiny with my german shepherds....Gracie was already almost 6 pounds...

good things come in small packages

I just love his name and he is as cute as he can be. I am totally in love with him since you first posted.

Our Daisy was the runt of her litter...I couldn't believe she had four brothers and sisters twice her size. Daisy is as long as Riki, but everything else is smaller. Riki weighs about 13 pounds and Daisy weighs nine. We have a friend whose havanese is 8 pounds, tiny and very healthy.

Our smaller havanese is a much gentler dog perhaps because of her size. She is my lap girl, making it hard to go to the bathroom because she has to be there too.

Enjoy Linus, a little guy with a Lion's heart!

Good luck on the dental work Linus! I hope you feel great as soon as the extra teeth are gone!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Well my havanese are normal size but I have Isabelle the maltese who in her adult life is between 4-5lbs depending on what she is eating/doing. She jumps 8 inches in agility and obedience just fine though. I have had lots of issues with teeth with her. I highly recommend you be very proactive with brushing teeth, maybe using the gel, etc. That has been Belle's biggest health problem is her dang teeth. She had 7 removed when she was spayed at 6 months.

Yeah Linus!!
Pixie has started to loose baby teeth. Some bottom teeth have fallen out, but the top front seem pretty firmly stuck in there still. I know what you mean about the shark look. I hope they do fall out on their own. She will be 6 months in 2 days. The vet said to make the appointment to get her spayed before Christmas. Amanda is right about the tooth brushing because Pixie is starting to get stinky breath. I'm going out today to purchase some paste. Pixie weighs 4.5 now-so Linus is the teeniest. Such a cute boy.

We have to change paste because Linus hates his. I forgot the brand, and I am at work now. Any great recommendations so he will enjoy the tooth brushing???

My husband and I keep betting on how big Linus will get. I think he will continue to grow after the usual one year because he has been slow to do everything (start teething, skull bones closing, testicle dropping, ...). I think he will just take longer to get up to his final adult weight. My husband on the other hand thinks he will stay under 5 pounds. We'll see....

Kiss Pixie for Linus. Actually he would probably be so excited to see a dog his size to play with that he would start doing the "play with me dance" jumping around her if they ever met!
