Bedtime Question

I was wondering what time most of you put your babies to bed. Since we've never had a dog before I jsut assumed that we'd put her to bed around 8PM or 8:30PM and she'd sleep thru till 7AM or so. She's been waking up around 5AM and then goes right back to sleep after a potty break. I've read some posts that some of you take the puppy out for the last time around 10 or 10:30PM. She is always very sleepy when we put her to bed and I guess I just assumed if we let her nap around 8PM then put her to bed at 10PM or so she wouldn't want to sleep. Maybe I think too much... Anyway, any advice would be appreciated!!!

Hi,

Havee goes out for the last time between 10 and 11pm. We go up to bed by 11pm. He goes into his crate and we don't hear a peep out of him until we take him out around 6:45am. By the time 8:30-9pm hits, he is out for the count in the familyroom with us. We just keep him with us until we call it a night.

Our dogs go to bed when we do unless it is a really unusual situation where we are staying up late. Then they go to bed when they all start crashing for the night. We're generally an early-to-bed, early-to-rise household though.

Have him go to bed when you do! Kubrick goes to bed with me, but if I'm up really late (happens pretty often), he'll crash out on his dog bed (usually around 12:30am or so - we're a late night household) until I go to bed at which point he just follows me straight into his crate in the bedroom and crashes out for good.

Mine all go to bed when we do, which is usually around 11pm. They sleep until around 8ish. But most of them cat-nap in the evening, except Heidi who is usually playing non-stop fetch with her santa toy.

Yep, me too. Tucker has always stayed with me until I go to bed. If he's ready to sleep, he just sleeps wherever I am. Then, when he was tiny I'd put him in his crate by my bed when I went to bed. Now, he just follows me onto the bed.

Benji and Lizzie usually fall asleep by 9. We go to bed at 10 and we wake them up around 9:45 to take them out. They go right back to sleep at 10 with us. I get up early for my morning workout and they follow me and crash near by me until I finish. They are really up and about after 6:30.

Everybody - Thank You!!! - This is exactly what I was hoping to hear!!!! Sorry, but we knew nothing about puppies/dogs before Pixie except what we could find in books and you can't find everything you need. This forum is so helpful!!! I'm sure I'll be back with a lot more questions...

Scooter usually falls asleep anytime between 8-10pm wherever we are in the house. I go upstairs by 10, he goes out for a last potty just before then. Sometimes he hangs out a while in our room but then goes into his crate until we get up. 6am when DH is home during the week and anytime between 7-9am on the weekends.

You'll learn a lot here Robin, it's wonderful!
