When to move to regular feedings?

Wen we had Ginger at the Vet for her first visit, she recommended have food available all day rather than regular feedings. She felt we could move her to scheduled feedings when she was older. It hasn't been a problem with housebreaking, because she is still pretty regular in that department.

So when would we want to put her on more of a schedule? At what age to pups go down to 2 feedings a day?

I'm not a believer in free feeding at any age. Puppies are generally fed 3 times a day, moving to twice a day as they mautre. Kodi made it prettty clear when he didn't need lunch any more... He just stopped eating it.

Brody has always had set meal times. It made it much easier to predict his potty schedule, plus I then always knew how much he had eaten.

He's also an exception in that he has never had one meal he wanted to give up, so I still offer him 3 meals but he usually only eats 1 or 2 of them (but there are days he wants all 3).
