Had to have Bodi's coat cut down - so sad

Hi all - Bodi is apparently blowing his puppy coat and I got him to the groomers as quick as they could take me, but he still had mats on his belly and behind his ears. I didn't have this problem with Maggie, or at least I was able to keep up with it with her. I feel bad since we LOVED his long coat.

We plan on letting it grow in again and the groomer gave me tips on the proper way to keep the mats out and helped me change the brush and comb I'm using. Hard to tell in picture, but if you look at his legs, his whole body is that short except for head and tail.

Here's a picture of the "short haired" Bodi and a picture of his old coat. Sorry they are sideways, not sure why that is happening.

I feel like a bad mommy!

I love his long coat too, but is is still cute short.

Not looking forward to the blowing coat stage.

His adult coat will be the best coat anyway.

The good thing is, hair grows! In a few months, this will just be something to laugh about!

Bodi and your daughter are both adorable. And don't worry, you aren't a bad mommy.

Thanks all. I just keep thinking - who is that dog? lol. He's doesn't look as huge next to Maggie now though

Bodi looks great! I bet he feels so much better, too. My little Maggie (from Blanchi) was born two days after Bodi's litter mates. Maggie's been blowing coat for about a month. I've been keeping up with her mats but it's been a challenge. Last Sat I brushed her 5 times to get mats as they appeared. Most days, I get 1 or 2 mats but today, none. Maybe the worse it over or Maggie is giving me a break. Maggie's mats have only been behind the upper left leg except after her spaying, Ap 15. I had to cut out a few matted areas around the tummy shaving since I had to be careful combing her.

I'm having little Maggie cut like you had Bodi in a couple weeks. She'll enjoy the shorter coat for summer. I think she's part Alaskan since she's hot if the temps are over 75. Their fur grows so quickly, it will be long again just in time for winter.

Enjoy the shorter coat! It's adorable.
