When Ginger was at the groomer yesterday, they remarked that she was very vocal in the crate. She was barking/crying quite loudly when I picked her up. They said she had only been in the crate for 10 minutes or so.
Ginger does great in her crate at night, and even goes into it to take naps, but she does cry when we put her in the crate when we leave the house. We don't really know how long it takes her to calm down when we leave, but I hope it doesn't take long.
She just seems to loudly bark/cry when she's in her crate and someone is around.
So I have a couple questions...
Does she need to be taught to be calm in her crate during the day? Since she is housebroken, there really is no need for her to be confined when we are home, so the only time I can see her being confined in her crate is when she is at the groomer or vet.
How long have you used your crate? I can imagine that I will use it until Ginger can be safely left in the house alone. I don't worry about potty accidents as much as her chewing something or getting into something.
