Question confused solid gold adult vs sg puppy

I was reading on their website that they recommend feeding the adult small breed for puppies rather than the puppy formula....confused about that! Mayb I will start a new thread on that and see what sort of feedback I get.

from website...
I have a small breed puppy but I do not see a small breed puppy food. What should I feed him/her?
We recommend feeding small breed puppies the Just a WEE BIT formula. It is specifically formulated for smaller breeds which have a higher calorie requirement per pound of body weight than larger dogs and the nutrient profile closely matches that of the Hundchen Flocken puppy formula. Thus, it is suitable for puppies and adults alike.

The solid gold adult food has the protein requirements of most puppy foods to help them grow. According to your post the calories/cup is a little less than other puppy food, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

The Wellness puppy has chicken as the protein base. But that is also the protein source in EUKANUBA PRODUCT : Small Breed Puppy. Solid Gold uses bison and ocean fish. You can find all ingrediants and the breakdown of calories, fat, fiber, etc online.

Goodluck! Keep us posted.

But I find it confusing....would lamb be a better protein source for a puppy than bison, and if they are suggesting the adult then why are not all the ingredients the same, some a similar but not all the same... so, would I buy adult or puppy for sure. I guess one of the advantages would be that maybe I could alternate or just mix it, but not sure how his tummy would tolerate that. They should just make a small breed puppy...

I just wish he was good on the wellness, I really liked the ingredients in it...
