Smile Mochi Update and Pictures and Videos!

Mochi is growing up sooo fast! She is a relatively big girl at 6.5lbs, 16 weeks old.

I previously talked about her regression in potty-training and members suggested that she may have UTI. When I expressed my concerns to the vet, he told me that I was worrying too much and that he didn't think a urinalysis was necessary. At this point, I think he was right. I listened to Lina and restricted her area dramatically. I also give her a prized liver treat everytime she pees in the right place. (I did this initially but since she was doing so well, I became a bit lax). Right now, she is trained such that everytime I "walk" her over to the ugodog she will pee. I bring her there every two hours and she always goes. Only problem is she has yet to go on her own. But I don't really mind as long as she stops peeing on the floor!

Another milestone is that she ate her own poop for the first time today!! Imagine my horror when I went to her ex-pen and found a large poop ball in her bed - remnants of a longer roll! I had read about these problems in the forum and was always relieved that she wasn't a poo-eater. I can't believe how disgusted I am with my little furball

Mochi is my first puppy and I can't believe how incredibly rewarding it has been to see her learn and grow. It's also bittersweet how fast she gets past some milestones - like, jumping on a bench, climbing out of her ex-pen, going down the stairs, etc. I never imagined being a pet owner could be so fulfilling. I can't wait for the many years ahead!

Oh, and one question that I haven't been able to find on the forum... Do your hav's tear smell? Mochi has smelly tears, sort of like bad breath. I was just wondering if this is normal?

Here's some videos I took. Enjoy!

Mochi is simply a little heartbreaker. She would have me wrapped around her little finger! The tomato video is hilarious. OMG, just look at her little face!!!

Yes, there are all these crazy disgusting maddening things they do! Lately, Heath-y is growling at everything/everyone (it's the 6 mos fear stage) and eating DIRT and eating hideous mussels that birds drop in our yard, so he reeks of dead fish. I call him fish face. . . . .so know that all the disgusting bits are part of owning a D-O-G. But it's worth it!

Smelly tears? Maybe a little? She could have mild conjunctivitis. An antibiotic eyedrop the vet gives will cure it.

HAV A GREAT DAY ! ~~AMY & BISCUIT~~
and HEATH-Y, TOO !

I love Mochi. Great job on your potty training success. Try to gradually spread the breaks, like an additional 30 min per week or so. As for the smelly tear stains, it could be a yeast infection that can occur when her eyes are constantly tearing and the area stays moist.

What a cutie. I love the determination to get out of the bath tub too! Before I didn't know that grapes weren't safe we used to give Belle frozen grapes to play with all the time (oops!)
