waiting is a pain lol

My prior puppy died about 1 year ago from cancer at age 15. He was an awesome dog and friend. I finally decided to get another dog and decided on the havanese due to temperament, size, look etc. I kept narrowing the list of breeds I liked down after research till I finally picked a havanese. I got an excellent breeder to reserve me a puppy for later this summer. But now that I have made the decision to get a puppy the waiting is hard. I keep wanting to find a dog sooner, I'm still checking hav breeders online. I keep telling myself I have made all the right choices and just to be patient. But looking at all the posts and pictures on the forum I can't wait. LOL. Oh well the time will fly by and I can use the time to buy him stuff and save up for the vet bills.

It IS hard to wait, once you've made up your mind, after you've been so carefully analyzing for so long!

But, as you said, you can use this time to build up your puppy-fund! That'll be very handy to have!

(Good psychology to use on yourself---now, just keep repeating it....)

hi mikeb and welcome.
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. How wonderful though that you've decided to get another pet.

You are going to love this forum, meeting others havs through the pics and journeying with those that are just getting their pups.

And we'll look forward to your announcement soon, when the right pup comes your way.

welcome and woof from Henry.

Mike, I'm glad you've decided to get another dog . . . and you are going about it the right way even thought the waiting is hard. You didn't say where you are, but I'll bet there are some folks on this forum who could help you find one pretty quickly.

I can only imagine how hard it must be to wait. Just getting all the puppy stuff should take you at least several weeks! We can't wait to see what your new baby looks like. Hang in there . . .

Hi Mike and welcome. A lot of us had to wait quite a bit to get the right puppy, so we feel your pain. I remember being SO jealous of all the forum folks posting pics of their lovely Havs. Luckily, our members are spread all over this country and if you like, you can post your location and see if you can meet some of them or attend a playdate. If you don't want to mention your location, you can look under the members avatars, for instance, for their location and just pm whomever is close to you. Phew, sorry for the long post!

Mike, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your decision to get a Hav. We all know how hard the wait is for that special puppy. In the meantime, looking can't hurt and you might even find that second pup you will no doubt get sooner or later.

WAITING is a PAIN!!!! Look for several breeders. Once I made my mind up about owning a Hav, I wanted a Hav as soon as possible, I still had to wait 10 weeks, but at least it was not months! I think I would have lost the rest of my mind if I had to wait any longer!

Hey Mike! I'm new to the forum as well and I'm so glad the wait for my puppy is almost over! I've been waiting for two months and get to finally pick him up on Monday! It seems like the wait has been forever...I've just tried my best to be patient and not think too much about it. Puppy supplies does take a hit to your wallet...I like the positive thinking with saving up! I hope the wait starts moving along faster for you...can't wait to see the little puppy you end up with!

Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free

God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
Romans 5:8-11
