Post The strangest thing happened today????

I had to leave Duncan for about 2 hours today and I left him in his expen and inside his expen is his crate.Well, when I came home he was out of his expen and sitting by the door. The only way I could figure that he got out was that he may have jumped on his crate, onto the couch, and then he was FREE!!!!Are these dogs really acrobatic jumpers???I think next time I have to take the crate out and just leave him in his expen.Simply amazing???

Dora can climb an xpen in less than 2 minutes flat. I can't leave her in one either! Thank goodness she was potty trained quickly! We watched her jump up and pull herself up over the top from the other room.... so you might want to look for something with a top or get creative and make your own!

Of course Dora climbed out of the ex-pen. I mean, look at her go in agility! She's a natural!

I SHOULD name Capote 'houdini' ..he's the master of escaping. So far since I've been visiting my dad he's 'escaped' 3 times..twice while we were gone for the day and he made a DISASTER of the house...which isn't good since my dad doesn't like dogs to begin with! When we're at home he can crawl under his gate if it's raised just a bit off the ground so I have to make sure it's flat on the floor or he'll squeeze through. I learned that the hard way on the first day I got him!

They are smarties that is for sure. we have like a gate on our porch Yoda never gos out it but if he hears hubby come home he opens it and runs out to greet him he has never gone any where else just where my husband is, he is funny that way. Yoda normally will follow me every where I go and he has never went in the street or to the neighbors house either lucky for me we dont have alot of cars on our street and every one that does come on the street they have to drive slow since there is cats and kids every where.

My girls NEVER got out of the xpen or gates. Logan on the other hand, by the time he was 16 weeks old, would get out, so we had to close him in his crate when we went out. This July we are taking the pups with us on vacation for 3 weeks and plan on putting 2 xpens together to make a large one for the 3 pups. I really hope that since the girls are in it, that Logan stays in too!!!! If not, I guess the poor guy will have to go in a crate.

Riley

Riley escaped from the family room that's divided by an expen that stretches across the whole opening to divide the kitchen! He jumped up on the back of the couch, onto the sofa table and jumped down (3 1/2 feet!) All FIVE pounds of him! AND, he lifts the edge of the expen with his head to get from the kitchen into the family room!

Not only can they jump, they are very good at landing on a tiny edge and balancing there. Mia does it all the time, jumps on anything no matter how high. Scares me a lot. I was in a casino a few months ago and my husband was outside waiting with the dogs. He let them run in an open area and then put them back in the truck. Another man came over to talk to him and when he turned back towards the truck, there was Mia balanced in the widow opening sitting there like she was on a chair!!! When he took a step towards her, she just stood up and wagged her tail, still perfectly balanced! Amazing!

Dot. Too funny. I see Houston thinking about getting out of his xpen but he didn't figure it out yet. I can see that little mind working. LOL They are pretty smart when they want something bad enough.
