Hello again!

Here is introduction #2.

Valentino is 4 years old and we are originally from Canada. He misses the snow and so do I. He has really enjoyed the cooler days lately we are getting here in Houston.

He is CKC registered and I would like to get him registered with the AKC.

He is a beautiful dog and originally I wanted to show him but I am afraid his height is something the judges will not accept, but I am obedience training him just the same. He is 14.5in at the withers.

I will soon start training him in agility courses because height does not matter and I think people will love to watch him run.

Thanks for having me in your forum!

I believe it is quite easy to get a dog registered with CKC registered with AKC also, but I also don't think it is necessary. I believe he can enter any AKC trial with just his CKC registration as it is, so I'm not sure you need to.

He is way over standard height-wise, either for AKC or CKC, in terms of showing in conformation, so you probably don't want to do that with him. But it doesn't matter at all obedience, rally or agility. He will just compete at his measured height. For obedience and rally, you just write down his height as you know it. As long as you are pretty close, they won't challenge you. For agility (and I think this is the same n Canada) he will need to be officially measured 3 times, then he will be given a "permanent" height card that will show what height he jumps in competition.

Your guy has a GORGEOUS face! What soulful eyes! <3
