Angel eyes is an antibiotic and it is a bad idea to be used without the guidance of a veterinarian... especially for a cosmetic issue like tear staining. Some white dogs have on-going tear staining issues, but many puppies outgrow it when they are done teething.

Welcome and congratulations!

Agree about feeding three times a day at that age.

Regarding the staining of the fur by the eye, I use a washcloth with a some warm water to clean only the fur at that site twice a day. Be careful not to touch or cause tension at the inner portion of the eye ( inner cathus) where there is a third eyelid to avoid giving the dog cherry eye.

I also brush my pup's teeth twice a day and combine it with the fur near the eye care. Even though they lose their baby teeth, it is a good idea to get them used to brushing their teeth (inner and outer surfaces) at an early age with positive feedback like treats and praise.

Welcome to the forum. Be prepared that some dogs don't outgrow the tear staining no matter what. Bichons, Havanese, Poodles, and Maltese are just a few breeds prone to tear staining. Congratulations on your new puppy. I am sure you will love her regardless. Please post pictures, we are looking forward to seeing her.

My puppy definitely outgrew most of his tearing but his stains are worse as an adult because when he was tearing more it was a reminder to wipe his eyes more often. It was pretty easy to get into the habit of wiping them right before meals, when he is an angel! There are a few different eye wipe pads out there and all of the ones I’ve tried seem pretty dry, but I still like them best because they are small enough they aren’t wasteful but still disposable. I add a little warm water to the wipe because he likes it much better and I make sure the area around his eyes is dry afterwards.
