Hi all! This is the first forum I have ever joined so forgive me as I am partially computer illiterate! I am new to the Havanese breed. I have a 10 month old named Bella who is such a joy! I have had Shelties for the past 24 years and although I love that breed, decided to leave the dog hair behind, and after much research, get a non shedding sweet little Havanese instead. I couldn't be happier. What an amazing breed! I will be looking for some advice shortly for a couple "problem" areas.

We had a Husky mix for 16yrs. My wife wasn't all that enthused about getting another dog but if I insisted it had to be non shedding. That was one of the primary reasons we got Skye. As you said we "couldn't be happier". I'm sure Bella will continue to amaze and astound you in the future.
I don't do Facebook or Instagram or Twitter or anything else, so this is my only guilty pleasure social media outlet. That's why I am always asking people to post pictures of their sweet dogs! If you access the forum from a computer, just drag and drop your photos in the field below the box in which you type.
My DH is allergic to most dogs, including many of the so-called "hypoallergenic," but he doesn't react to Havanese. The thing I have learned about the term "non-shedding," however, is that it doesn't mean you won't have dog hair everywhere! We brush and comb Shama regularly, and our clothes and furniture constantly have her hair on them. We don't mind, because we love Shama and her long coat, but that was a surprise to me ...

Yes I like the non-shedding part of the breed. That was something I wanted in my next dog when I lost my beloved corgi. I got tired of shaving my fleece tops.
This is a wonderful forum because it's full of such good advice from knowledgeable Havanese and mixed-Havanese owners. The ONLY way I survived the puppy-stages and ended up with a well mannered and housebroken dog was due to this forum.
This website is old, not maintained (my understanding) and it's a bit clunky but you'll learn the ins and outs after a while.
I use to have trouble attaching photos and learned to downsize my pictures to about 1500 pixels or less on one side and save as JPG or for the WEB. If you taking iPhone pics you probably won't have any problem. I typically use a camera and process the pics from the camera and those can be very large.
I think, you have to start two Threads -- or post twice -- before the website Recognizes you? That's what I remember when I first posted to this forum.
Someone else should Chime in here if you know how this works.
Keep trying and Ask Specific questions if you have a problem ... someone probably can help.
I’m new to this forum too. Very little computer skills but I’ve been “lurking” (is that the word?) for a awhile and finally decided to take the plunge and join. Our Hav Dexter is 2 1/2 and we thoroughly enjoy him! We had a beloved corgi when we got Dexter but she passed away last April at almost 15. Absolutely loved her but I was over corgi hair everywhere! Dexter has been so much fun and I’m looking forward to meeting other owners who are as crazy about their dogs as we are😊
Thank you! We are anticipating the arrival of Sir Bentley 7 1/2 weeks old in about 2 hours. He's coming via Transport from Roadside Plus LLC. I've been nervous getting him here, but his breeder is very reputable and has vetted the company out. Her normal driver was busy this weekend and she assured me it would be an easy transport. The Breeder has been wonderful and has kept us constantly updated the entire time.
I'll post his picture for my Profile as soon as I can get him in my arms and take a good photo. We are new parents to having a puppy! This is both exciting and nervous for us.
