Hello from Arlington Hts., IL

Obviously, I am new to the forum and quite challenged just trying to do this first post.

We have a sweet, smart, funny, full of energy and oh so challenging 7.5 month old puppy, Marnie. She started out brown with some white markings, but looks like she is going to keep the brown paws and ears, while most of her body is a really pretty mix of much lighter-she looks like she is going gray. Since her spay surgery and loosing most of her baby teeth, Marnie chews everything that isn't moving. Sometimes, though, she gives us a little chew when she's trying to tell us something. We are the exception to her not moving rule, because we are moving. Though, as "older" parents, admitedly, we are not as fast as we used to be.

I am looking forward to learning from other Havanese owners, particularly now with the stay at home orders in place.

Welcome Marnie and family. My Ricky is 6 y.o. I found that each year he grows older......I grow one year younger! trying to keep up with him. Believe me, you will become faster!

Try experimenting with some pictures of Marnie. We'll help if you get stuck.

Thank you! It was perfect that the groomer had the pink pouf for her to sit on for the pic since it matched her leash and collar.

One of the reasons I wanted another dog after so many years, is because they are so good for us. My husband, who was not in favor when I got her, said he is so happy we have the little character, especially now. She is more work than I remembered, but worth it.
I'll try posting some pics.

Thank you!
So interesting to see the color change. We'd had a Bichon before. I was excited to have a little one who might not look dingy so quickly. I found out a month or so after I got her her that her parents are very light. Her father is white with a brown saddle marking and a few other spots. I am hoping she stays a little darker. Her coloring is so pretty and interesting now. Quite honestly, I didn't realize they could change so much. It's pretty fascinating.

See down doggie puppy using yoga blocks to work on her bully stick.

Welcome! Marnie is beautiful! I love all the colors of Havanese! I love the North Star Havanese Club play dates (today's had to be cancelled, of course), because all the different colored dogs are the same special breed!
