You are right about rescues, our 11 year old Havanese was a rescue from HRI-many breeders have this organization specifically noted on websites. Thatís where we got Cotton. I have been looking at them for over 2 years but thereís never been more than 4 at any given time and frequently less. We got our 3rd Havanese from a breeder last March and she is beyond fabulous and best friends with Cotton. Do you live in the US or Canada? I was extremely particular, more than most, in choosing a breeder. We had a negative experience when we got our 15 year old and I admit I was hyper vigilant, partly perpetuated by mommy guilt.
There are many knowledgeable people here so it can be helpful to get different perspectives. There was a thread recently that concluded most Havanese breeders are charging around $2500 with some geographic variations. What worked for me was making a list, communicating with breeders and most importantly, following my gut.
Youíre so smart to begin researching now, you can also get good feedback using the search bar. Your future baby is going to be one lucky puppy❣️
