Yesterday Brooklyn and a friend were painting their nails- and they dropped the bottle. Which went all over my carpet and all over Stella.
I have a stain remover that worked on the carpet- but I need ideas to get it out of Stellas coat. Should I just cut it out? She has spotches and drops in her muzzle, legs, head, chest and back- help!!

Its actually quite a bit- luckily she is a black dog and the polish is a dark purple- so you don't see it much. But I def can't run my hands thru her coat- and it's all over her muzzle/nose area and down her legs- *sigh*

Oh no! I think I would wait a few days like Robbie mentioned and then if it won't peel off you can try more drastic measures! Would polish remover ruin her coat? If you were to go that route then you could moisturize it well afterwards.

Shine a light on her and take pictures.......lol

I would try some goo gone/orange oil remover. ALthough, I would test it on a small part of hair to see how it does and if you use this, do NOT let it on the skin, it can irritate the skin.

I've used it successfully to remove many glues and even some polish off of a bathroom rug, I"m not sure it'll work, but I'd try it.

:( Bummer!

Oh my goodness Katie. I figured the nail polish color would have been green....lol. I am not sure I would anything right away either. I would try and give her a bath here in a few days and maybe let her soak. Then maybe it would peel off. Sorry....bad Brooklyn...lol

uh-oh!

I have no idea what in the world to do! I guess if it wasn't close to the skin.....I maybe would try fingernail polish remover...but you would certainly want to take your time with it. If it was close to the skin....I haven't a clue what you could do. Have you thought of perhaps calling the polish company or maybe a professional groomer?

Oh Katie, how upsetting. I would try what the others suggested -- leaving it for a day or two and see if it peels off. Otherwise it is a great idea to check with a groomer.

So far I am taking the 'ignore it' stand....hahahaha
I tried to take pics yesterday- but the polish is so dark it doesnt show up on a black dog. In fact, you dont even really notice it's there until you try and pet her---
She is due for a bath on Thurday, maybe I will do a bit of polish remover just prior to her bath so I can wash it out and it doesnt sit on her coat.

Too late- I gave her a shave down today. She still has some polish in the muzzle hair right on top of her nose but I am not going to worry about it. It was way too much in too many places to try and work it all out. So now she is sporting a nice short 'do!
