Hi All: thought I would start a thread where we can share all our "GOOD" finds
so that we can have a "one-thread-stop" for finding treats and other products made in the USA.

Here's one I just found at our local pet store AMERICAN DOG/PET FACTORY--- USA raised, made and manufactured Raw Hide-

http://www.petfactory.com/index.html

And here is one for JONES NATURAL CHEWS jerky and beef parts I mentioned in another thread.

Please add your discoveries.

Another vote for Merrick products

My dogs just love them and they are all made in the USA. Their customer service is really good too. I just got a case of Snozzles today - the dogs went wild when the package came (they could probably smell it a mile away)!

MADE IN THE USA AND CANADA

Derrick-- the minute I posted- I felt bad for not adding CANADA to the title but don't know how to edit the thread titles... I think some great products come from Canada. for instance Orijen. And I am sure there are great prodcucts in Europe and even from Asia-- this China thing just has us all really scared---Please feel free to add Canadian finds too.

Biscuit also likes the Charlie Bear treats, but the cheese rather than the liver flavor. The great thing, too, is that they're lo-cal, just 3 cals each. Though they are a bit boring and cracker-like (remind me of Goldfish). So I recently bought some Paul Newman training treat sticks (easy to carry in your pocket and break off a bit) and B. loved them, but they must be very rich (they smell strong) and he instantly had a negative change in stools. I will have to try the Merrick squares, Karen, are they hard to find?

I found them in one of the local petstores in my area, but I am sure that you can find them online if you can't find them near you. I have seen them in a lot of pet stores. They do smell pretty bad, but he loves them. He actually started going to the cabinet where I keep them and whining for them:nono:. I put a stop to that quickly though.

Jones rabbit jerky disappointment

Well I just got the Jones natural chews Rabbit Jerky and it was not a big hit. It is much softer than the Cadet and it is mixed with Rye flour and salt- and I even got a taste of salt (by accident) off my hands after handling it. Doesn't have that "really chew and chew" consistancy that the real jerky has.
But with the order I also got freeze dried dogchovies. Little tiny crispy bits of anchchovies. the boys love them--- and I know when my Vet gave me some recipes for home cooked food - all the recipes included anchovies. I think they are full of calcium and Omega 3's.

I was a little freaked out as they came in just an unmarked ziplock bag-- I contacted sit stay.com and they told me- not from china. never had a problem--- not sure how I feel though.

Hi Missy:

I also feed them sardines (no salt added, packed in water) once in awhile for the calcium/omega 3s. They love it! But boy does it make their breath smell BAD!!! :(

Wow. I bet Gucci would throw that up. She has only vomited twice, once after canned tuna, and the other day I gave her a taste of canned salmon (I was going to make the salmon treats) but she threw up instantly. Canned fish is NOT agreeing with her at all :(
Kara
Kara,
Don't give up on the salmon, canned is probably bad, but Casper loves fresh cooked salmon. It is good for them.

Oh yes Kara, that is what put an end to my experiment with home cooking. Jasper loved it the first night- but once it has been frozen (in preportioned baggies) he wouldn't touch it. I was insulted. :) Gucci is one lucky lady!!!
