It isn't quite as bad as it sounds. Loki did great on 9 of the 10. The ones I was worried about he did great - stayed while I walked across the room and back and while I left the room for 3 minutes. He failed greeting the strange dog - he was fine until we started to walk away after I greeted the owner - then he jumped behind me to go see the dog - twice! I wanted to throttle him because he had been doing it fine in class. Oh well, back to practicing. He was so happy doing it though!
All in all it sounds like it was pretty darn close though, you’ll get it next time! CGC is one of my future goals with Nico, his mom and grandmother are both therapy dogs.
When Layla took her CGC the strange dog they used for greeting was a HUGE Mastiff :surprise: I was freaked, but he ended up being the biggest, kindest, marshmallow! You will pass next time! Keep us posted.
Yes, 9 out of 10 is darn good! Our dogs are social butterflies who are adored by everyone who sees them. That's not so bad, is it?
I was amazed that Shama got her CGC on her first try. I thought for sure we'd have to try at least three times. I thought she would fail the three minutes with a stranger.
You'll get it next time (or the next or the next . . .) Please keep us posted!
