2018 National Roll Call

The 2018 HCA National Specialty is being held August 6-11 at the Westin Lombard in Illinois. Substantially closer than NC for us, and it seems like efforts are being made to keep agility iff carpet (thank goodness), so Nino and I will be there...and maybe with a tag along showing in 4-6 month ;)

Anyone else we can count on seeing? I know Carolina and Paco plan on going, and I think Shama and her mama were hoping to...Karen, I know you have another travel conflict (lucky duck...Australia is great). Who else can we plan on seeing?

I'm still wavering :ballchain:, although I'd love to go. It's a long way and I'm not sure we will be ready for Open Ob by then. I was hoping they'd be holding it a little further West this year. I hope a good many forum members do go though!
Yeah, I wish I were going! I love the specialty! But, as you said, Australia is calling! ;)

Carolina and Paco here!

We plan on being there. We're not driving this year, though. Will most likely be flying... quick flight from Nashville.

Not sure how long we'll be going/staying for... definitely for the agility days, the rest of the days will depend on my work schedule at that time of year!

WOOHOO! I'm already excited. I had such a great time last year!

Looking forward to seeing who else will be there!

-Carolina and Paco

I may be there showing Joy in conformation, more likely her handler Casey Davis will be showing and I will be watching with bated breath.

Checking in to see if any forum members plan on attending. I will be there Monday through BOB on Saturday. Nino is showing in agility on Tuesday and rally on Wednesday. Puppy will be showing in 4-6 on Friday.

I still can't go, but Elizabeth O'Meara, Panda's breeder, will be there with her littermate, Moses Taylor, in agility, her "niece" Ziti in the puppy classes (I think she will be 6 months by then) and Giggles, Panda's "aunt" in breed
We're still trying to decide as Shama hasn't done well at her trials so far (one teacup, two CPE, and two AKC) and as we're getting our Austrian exchange student in Minneapolis on August 8. We currently have a hotel reservation for the night of August 6, but we could cancel. If I want her to run agility on August 7, I suppose I should register her soon. Maybe I'm already too late? (Today, after taking two weeks off for our vacation, she was a rock star on our little course in the back yard -jumps, weaves, and tunnel . . .)

Agility entries close on the 15th, so I would go for sooner than later ;). People expect very little from novice dogs (even if they have attended a handful of trials). If they do well, people are impressed. If not...oh well! If anything else, it's a good time with like-minded Hav lovers and a blast to see so many doing their thing.

We decided we want to go to the agility trial after all, so I'm sending in my entry form. Now we just have to hope there will still be enough openings for us . . .

So excited!

We got in! Will anyone else be at the agility trial, even just as spectators?

Woo hoo! Glad your entry made it. The Havanese agility gang is too fun.

The boys' breeder will be there, along with the woman who owns Nino's champion litter mate who we came to know and love through shows. Both there to cheer us on (then we cheer Frankie and Sally on during obedience!)

Leaving in a couple days here! I'll make sure plenty of photos are taken this time around and will keep you all updated :) Excited to see friends Shams and Paco run.

Well, I would make the trip just to see Shama, but just too much going on with the relocation. I hope to see some of my HF friends at nationals next year. Boy, don't I love Chicago, as well.
