Food for 6 and a half days.
I do not use chicken liver often because the lack of vitamin D.

But I rotate food (meat, veggies, fruits, herbs, fresh organs/freeze dried organs, canned fish/fresh fish) often.
Mostly I have 2 different recipies in the freezer so they can eat every day something different.
This will be served with sardines. Other recipies with oyster, salmon, tuna or eggs.

The finish product looks not that yummy. I should have taken a pic at the beginning of the process with the bright colours to see. 😆
Next time.

🐂 Beef
🦃 Turkey
🐔 Chicken liver
Freeze dried beef pancreas
Freeze dried beef tripe
Organic whole bone powder
Cauliflower with leaves
Romaine lettuce
Zucchini
Parsley
Mint
Blueberries
Quinoa
Almond meal
Wheatgrass powder
Oyster powder
Turmeric powder
Eggs
Hemp seeds
Pinch salt

The oyster max I use is for the zinc, as you certainly know. It is from the oyster, not the shell. The only one I found to buy here.
And the canned I use is the only one I can buy here not from China.

I am looking forward to every cook. It makes me so happy and satisfied. No cook is the same and I love to see the dogs enjoying it and thriving on it.

Pablo's problems are getting better and better. His skin (yeast and bacterial) looks quite good and his dry eyes only needs one time a day the eye medication.

His anal sacs have been emptied 9 weeks ago. Previously every 2 weeks. The food and the red light I use helps immensely.

Pippa's yeasty ears and Lili's yeasty feet are long gone. No antibiotics any more if not really nesserary.

Pablo still has reflux and reverse sneezing. But it is getting better too.
His vomiting in the morning stopped since I cook.
He was still sometimes vomiting with the commercial lightly cooked. A good food, but they use synthetic vitamins and minerals.

When I get him healthy I start to give the meat raw.
At this time he can not digest raw properly. I think the girls would be fine, but in the moment I concentrate on lightly cooked. So so much to learn.

I include a fair amount of chicken in the meals I prepare because chicken bones are one of the few edible types of bones and I use raw meaty bones to cover many important nutrients. Raw meaty bones contain much more than just calcium so I do not want to simply use a calcium supplement because I would then have to make up for all the missing nutrients (which are actually critical cofactors for calcium absorption) by providing synthetics or other foods which are not as species appropriate in my opinion. If I did not feed raw meaty bones, my next choice would be bone meal.

What I do to reduce the omega 6 load is to feed pasture raised chicken only and I also remove alot of the skin. Most of the omega 6 is in the skin. You can definitely tell the difference between a pasture raised and conventional chicken looking at the skin. The conventional has so much thick fatty skin. I then use another protein with the chicken that is very high in omega 3, typically grass finished beef. I try to feed most of their fat from that, although some chicken skin is good as it contains collagen and they do need some omega 3. They also get occasional sardines or salmon which are super high in omega 3 to help balance the omega 6. Anyway, this is another example of the control you can have making homemade dog food.

I suspect most chicken in commercial foods is conventional and they balance out the high omega 6 with fish oil.

This forum has been wonderful in improving the diet for Enzo. I am absolutely going to be exploring Raw Feeding Miami (as they are in my back yard). I think this will greatly help Enzo.

Do you find the need to brush your dogs teeth more frequently feeding like this? I am exploring a freeze dried Beef Lung that claims they assist in teeth cleaning. I have yet to give him any though.

Todays Dog's breakfast.

Homecooked with freeze-dried in a Norm. shake.

From time to time I feed a bid freeze-dried raw for variation and crunch or if in need of an easy, quick solution.
As it lacks in moisture I add bone broth or Norm. I love the colour. 💜 Other mixtures available.

Norm. is part owned by Clare, the owner of the Hunde brand.

I am not a Baker, as you can imagine. 🤓

They raised a lot. But the moulds are so tiny, I could not fill them half.
So, I cut them in half after baking. Now I have a beautiful heart and another not so beautiful piece.
I know I am weird. 😇😝

A lot room for improvement....

This is a tiny treat, not food.
