I may be jumping the gun here. Jasper had his first CBC ever as he has been a really healthy dog outwardly (he is 5.) and his T3 and T4 came out marginally low. They are re-testing, but of course I want to know all I can know before I discuss the new test results with the vet.
As I look at the symptoms, I do wonder if he has his whole life had a borderline low thyroid issue.
I know once you start you have to keep giving the synthetic thyroid-- -so since his is borderline, wondering if there is ever an argument not to start?
Is it difficult to get the dose right? what are the issues when trying to get it right?
Are there any cautions to starting this therapy? are there any cautions to taking a wait and see?
