I like the Asian fusion look. Here is my attempt on Mia. I think I left her legs a little bushier than the typical Asian cut.
Mia! What a cutie! I love that you clip her yourself! Great job!I like the Asian fusion look. Here is my attempt on Mia. I think I left her legs a little bushier than the typical Asian cut.

This is definitely true. I was modeling Mia after a Maltese. No way her fur would stick out like a poodle!Yhe trouble with this style is that it works best with a curly coat, and a correct Havanese coat isn’t curly, like those in your examples. A Bichon or a Poodle or Poodle cross can be cut to look like that, but a typical Havanese coat won’t stay poofed out like that.
What MPM did with Mia is the Asian Fusion look most Havanese people go for, with a short body, long full, flowing legs, and the head either done the way she did Mia, or I’ve also seen most of the head short, but long ears, beard and moustach.
Yes, and as I said, this is the way I've seen other Havanese done too (although the head can be done this way or with the longer beard and ears) rather than the "teddy bear) look. This is definitely true. I was modeling Mia after a Maltese. No way her fur would stick out like a poodle!
Yes I agree that this look is better for Havanese. Trying to do a Poodle look Asian style on a Havanese is like me going to the hairdresser with a picture of a woman with an Afro and asking to look like that! We gotta work with what we have!Yes, and as I said, this is the way I've seen other Havanese done too (although the head can be done this way or with the longer beard and ears) rather than the "teddy bear) look.
I like this look better on a Havanese. I LOVE this "swishy" leg look. While I cut Panda pretty short all over before the puppies to lessen my work load, I'll grow her back out to the way I've had her for the past year after this... pretty much like Mia... a puppy cut with long, swishy legs. It works great for a dog who has an easy coat!
